Welcome to Nanoscience & Spin-Optics Group

Nano Science & Spin-Optics Group of The Ultrafast Quantum Optics Laboratory was founded in the Department of Applied Physics, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University in April 2010.
Now we participate actively in optical and material sciences.
Our research is aimed at time-resolved optical study and manipulation of spins in semiconductor nanostructures. At present, we have been particularly interested in the interaction between the tens of thousands of nuclear spins and a single electron spin in a semiconductor quantum dot, and in telecomm-wavelength quantum memory using rare-earth-doped crystals.
