In tens of years in the future, quite a lot of bridge structures constructed at the high economic growth period (1960s) will receive its life. In addition, we should think about effective use for the existing bridge structure. Therefore, making the bridge structure by the maintenance or the repair and reinforcement long-lived becomes a big problem. In addition, the system that can accurately diagnose the damage level or the soundness of the bridge is required to achieve efficient management of the bridge structure. From these backgrounds, it is thought that it is important to construct the monitoring system that uses it for the damage level check of the bridge structures, and to establish the method that can be consistently done from the measurement to the diagnosis.

The structure's damage level at present should be measured and be diagnosed accurately to repair appropriate and to reinforce it. Then, in this research, analysis by using sound monitoring system for wave motion that spreads in steel-made test piece is performed to examine validity and the practicality of a sound monitoring system and analytical data.
