BMS(Bridge・Management・System)

In Japan, the infrastructure like the bridge structure have been rapidly maintained at the high economic growth period (1960s). Therefore, the bridge structure that will receive the life in tens of years in the future is predicted to increase rapidly. On the other hand, making an existing bridge structure long-lived by maintenance, or strengthening the repair and reinforcement according to necessity is strongly hoped for because the decreasing tendency of the investment reserves in recent years is received and a new, developed investing is difficult. Then, the establishment of BMS (Bridge Management System) that takes the life cycle cost into consideration is required strongly, because it achieves efficient, effective management of the bridge structure.

ex.1: Establishment of Bridge Maintenance Support System

In the idea of the management of the bridge structure, it is necessary to think about the judgment factor, such as present state of damage, deterioration forecast in the future or life cycle cost, with a different respectively physical quantity at the same time. Then, in this research, DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) whose parameters are damage degree, the rest of lifespan, user's cost and present value is performed to establish the management method enables us to decide priority level of the bridges require repair.
