On January 7th, Professor Katsunori Nagano gave a New Year's greeting to the laboratory students.
Professor Nagano encouraged the students who are just one month away from their graduation and master's thesis presentations.

On December 25th, a midterm research presentation was held by the fourth-year undergraduate (B4) and second-year master's (M2) students of the Nagano Laboratory.
Prior to the presentation, Dr. Ali Mohammed Hassan Radwan, a new postdoctoral researcher who arrived in Japan last week, was also introduced to the laboratory.

From November 29th to 30th, 2018, "The 2nd Japan-China Ground Source Heat Pump System Technology Exchange Meeting" was held at the China Academy of Building Research (CABR) in Beijing, China.
Professor Nagano, Associate Professor Katsura, Assistant Professor Sakata, and two students from the Nagano Laboratory participated in this meeting.

From November 8th to 9th, 2018, the 26th Symposium on Environmental Engineering was held at the Frontier Research in Applied Sciences Building, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University.
Associate Professor Katsura and Assistant Professor Sakata delivered oral presentations, and four students gave poster presentations.
Many students from our laboratory also participated.

On October 25th, 2018, a study tour was held to visit a "CO2 Refrigerated Warehouse, Instant Noodle Manufacturing Factory, and LNG Terminal / Gas Turbine Power Generation Facility." This event was hosted by the Hokkaido District Project Promotion Committee of the Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers.

Seven international students who entered the university in October have joined the Nagano Laboratory as new members.

From September 12th to 14th, 2018, the 2018 SHASE Annual Conference was held at Daido University. Seven students, Associate Professor Katsura, and Professor Nagano delivered oral presentations.

From September 4th to 7th, 2018, the 2018 JSRAE Annual Conference was held at the College of Engineering, Nihon University.
Four students, Visiting Associate Professor Togawa, and Associate Professor Katsura delivered oral presentations.

On Wednesday, August 29th, a farewell party was held for Ms. Akane Matsumura, a technical assistant in our laboratory, who will be leaving at the end of August.
We wish her continued success and good health in her future endeavors.
