About ISCORD
The International Symposium on Cold Region Development (ISCORD) is an interdisciplinary
forum that is organized every three years by the International Association
for Cold Region Development (IACORDS).
The objective of ISCORD is to provide cold region experts with opportunities
to exchange experiences and knowledge across a wide range of scientific,
technological and cultural disciplines with a specific focus on the development
of the cold regions.
Since its establishment in 1983, ISCORD has been playing an increasingly
important role in addressing challenges resulting from global warming.
The cold regions and their unique environments are a key area for studies
on warming trends and demonstrating signs of climate change.
ISCORD will continue to contribute to finding solutions for the cold regions
to realize sustainable development and minimize the adverse effects of
climate change.
