Introduction

Research and Education

The division consists of two research groups: Functional Materials Chemistry and Inorganic Materials Chemistry. These groups consist of six laboratories and their activities cover a wide range of topics concerning about functions of metallic, inorganic, organic, and carbon materials, and their manufactualing processes and applications.

The Division of Functional Materials Chemistry studies include basic researches, such as the improvement of functional materials, the development and application of new functional materials, the development and application of nano-technology, the establishment of matelials-design based on the concept of safety and comport, the improvement of numerical methods for analyzing moleculer structure of materials, the establishment of global environment with functional materials, and the development and application of enegy-economizing materials.

The scope of the Division of Inorganic Materials Chemistry is including basic researches about inorganic materials, such as the improvement of the materials, the development and application of new materials, the establishment of new producing methods based on the concept of safety and comfort, and the appropriate and secure utilization of the earth's surface.
