Coastal Engineering Laboratory


	We currently study physical and environmental problems typically occurring at coast and estuaries in a cold region, as well as classical coastal zone dynamics involving sand drift, wave- structure interactions and surf zone flows. The recent projects can be found at a "Research" page.

Our lab comprises two faculties who work individually on own coastal research to cover various problems, and two Ph.D and six master course students are members of this lab. We have major experimental apparatus including three-dimensional flow visualization system newly developed, various measuring system for ice strength under the low temperature environment, five wave tanks and two wave tunnels as well as good computer resources.
